I admit being nervous how the committee process would go. As I told NCRA at their last meeting, what they came up with was very smart. Now we have a rail with trail process around the bay. This gives our area the political capital and economic benefits we need to implement the plan a single way could not. I knew that not all the ties needed to be replaced, and the rail did not need to be replaced, yet you naysayers would not listen. We can finally move forward now that the “squeeze” folks have quieted down. For those who continue to doubt normal maintenance can raise the rail-bed effectively for sea level rise, please understand NCRA already has done this as part of the rebuilding process. They raised the trestle down in Novato. On either side the track needed to be raised to match the bridge.
I am a part of this process. I do not have a problem with putting a trail along side the rail. I do have a problem with removing the rail for a trail in these vital areas. We need the tourist train. The tourist train is about diversification of our economy.

Sorry if the lighting is not quite right on a few of them. The spring on my normal lens broke, disabling automatic exposure.

Donors of Blood Types O and A are needed Today!
Currently in Humboldt and Del Norte Counties donations of blood groups O and A are not keeping pace with the needs of local patients.
Please find a Blood Mobile in your area today or tomorrow and make the time to donate
I received their email today. Remember this is the time where people most need blood and blood products. Of course there is need year around. They are open at their building till 7pm tonight. It is family night where they serve hot dogs I think. Please consider being a regular contributor. Normally they just have cookies, juice, water, popcorn, fruit, pretzels, and some other stuff.

Bayshore Mall parking lot from Sears to Wal-Mart was packed. We did not bother with Wal-Mart. The night before they has traffic barriers in a zig zag pattern outside for shoppers. Sears itself was packed. They sold out of the old Wii they had on sale. Kmart parking lot was full and lots of shoppers inside.
Oh yeah, lots Trick or Treating at Bayshore Mall had many more people than last year.

I have viewed your website more than enough with ads on to make up for the little amount of time it took to add my blog to the list. I have suffered with your ads obnoxiously covering the recent comments, scrolling with the page. Even when I got them to go away, they came right back.
The irony is you only knew what I did because I said so. You do not know if anyone else is using an ad blocker on the list of Humboldt Blogs. With your idea, I should be grateful to Google, Yahoo, etc and gleefully accept ads with their faults. I should be grateful for the ads on mobile devices, even though it uses battery power faster.
No. I guess you can say I am tired of the ads like others are tired of the billboards along Humboldt Bay. Having dealt with computers since the Atari days. I find it ridiculous to have four gigs of memory with the browser still running slow, because of ads, scripts, add on, etc.
You took my blog off once before. You said it was because my percentage of Humboldt stuff was below fifty percent. I counted my stuff, and most of it was Humboldt. Still you did not want to put it back. There is two blogs who, at times below fifty percent. It does not matter to you. I think even if I do get back on, another unwritten rule will be used. I am not sure I see the value of a list if it is administered unfairly and does not have all Humboldt Blogs.
I pointed you in the right direction to fix your water heater. I tried helping you with info on East-West rail. So no I do not owe you. I am glad when I am listed. I know you think I am beneath you. I do not care.

was turned in today at Humboldt elections office.
Romney, same religion, conservative, can tell you which countries are ally, and has managed businesses. No joke for a VP.
Elizabeth Emken, Republican, Businesswoman and Nonprofit Executive, vs good old girl Feinstein. Being a politician should not be a career.
Daniel Roberts, Republican, Businessman. If you want to run things right, you need a background in business.
Tom Lynch, of a choice between two Democrats, I choose one with Small Businessman
30/38 NO new taxes while the economy sucks, and the books need fixing.
31 Yes, maybe they can pass the budget on time and quit raiding local governments so bad.
32 Yes, sorry but I am mixed with unions. You can done a lot of good with labor, and yet you have a history of corruption. I hate the idea it takes so much to fire the lazy, good for nothing bums. Some of your workers do such a poor job, wiremold falls off the wall. Should I go on?
33 No, there are reasons that are legal and moral not to have insurance, that are not exempt.
34 No, there is some people in life that should be executed. If you want it cheaper, streamline the process. Personally, we should add to the list of offenses to be executed for. Personally add rape to the list, at least until the numskulls get the idea it is not a joke, it is not something that is yours. You have killed that person that used to be.
35 Yes, another crime I absolutely detest. How can you do that to another?
36 Yes, corrects the law to what was the intent, and saves money.
37 No. Lets be honest here, it does not label all GMO foods. It gives a false sense of security to those who think because it is not labeled GMO, it is GMO free. More fun is GMO sometimes spreads. Then what?
39 Yes. Makes an easier tax code, more income, clean energy, and a bit to schools.
40 No. Being lumped in with Marin and Sonoma sucks. Redo it.
