If Paul Gallegos is the proggy favorite, why no official endorsement from Heraldo?

Not even a single banner for him on the side. Bonnie has one, why not Paul?

If you work for a campaign, it’s more questionable than usual to be plugging your candidate on the blog you operate without it being considered advertising, and thus reportable as an expense.

Interesting take…And once Paul wins on Tuesday he can take some action against Rose unless Jackson reports the watchpaul blog as an expense.Perhaps you’d be wise to pass on your salient comment to team Jackson so they can begin to deal with any possible predicaments.

Does Rose post Jackson campaign material? The Herald does it frequently for the candidates it supports. There’s a difference between posting links to news articles (which Rose does) and posting scans of campaign literature (which the Herald does).

True.

LOL. Well, first of all the blog is not related to the campaign – it existed long before Jackson’s candidacy and will exist long after if the current results hold. The blog is mine and mine alone. Many blogs post campaign submissions – RedHeaded Blackbelt, Eric Kirk, Heraldo and The Reporta to name a few.

Second of all – ad rates are based on viewers/circulation – like the TS has 22,000 readers or something. And we all know the blog only has 4 readers, anons on heraldo have said so. I don’t know how you would compute the value. But similar questions were raised over heraldo’s “ads” for Higgins, Glass, Clark, etc. and others in the past. But he/she/it/they, at least as far as anyone knows, does not SELL ad space to anyone or anything, and neither do I. Perhaps we should – but again, how would you set the value?

What is an “ad” on the Humboldt Herald worth? On SoHum Parlance? Or watchpaul?

This, on the other hand, might qualify – created solely for the Gallegos campaign, by a campaign volunteer – http://da4humboldt.com/

Such gems as this:
DA and Plaintiffs in the Driver’s Seat on Skilled Healthcare Case…

Seniors protected from unscrupulous nursing facilities, thanks in great measure to the intervention of District Attorney Paul Gallegos…

Gallegos moves for Injunction against Skilled Healthcare…

Gallegos Forces Nursing Facilities to Follow the Law…

Gallegos calls Skilled Nursing’s bluff in court…

Why Gallegos Went to Bat for Seniors…

Gallegos Wins Justice for Seniors. Settlements to bring $2Million to Humboldt DAs Office…

NIce, huh? Especially in contrast to Paul Hagen’s honest characterization of Gallegos’ self serving chest thumping:
“…Three private law firms initiated the Skilled Healthcare case and again did most of the work, but in his ads Gallegos takes full credit. His ads are neither true nor ethical…

While being dishonest is more than bad enough, vilification, smearing, and divisive politics are worse. This is Gallegos’ fourth campaign and in each of the others he has done these things and won…

“If you really want the truth about Gallegos’ professional ethics, inquire of him why the other affected DA’s and the Attorney General all refused to join in his Skilled Healthcare settlement due to their ‘ethical concerns’ over his use of secret settlement monies and more. Ask Gallegos himself to explain directly, honestly and openly the formal rebuke he has received from the California District Attorneys Association for his unprofessional use of DA authority in settling that case. Go ahead, ask him to explain honestly and directly. He won’t. That would require real courage and the capacity to tell the truth regardless. He has neither…”

So, why DID the other affected DA’s and the Attorney General all refused to join in his Skilled Healthcare settlement due to their ‘ethical concerns’ over his use of secret settlement monies and more?…”
