HB: Two events soon at Fortuna LDS Church

Humanitarian Aid Night at the LDS Church in Fortuna

On Wednesday, Feb. 24, there will be a Humanitarian Aid night at the Fortuna Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The purpose of these aid nights is to work on projects for distribution throughout the world to people of need, regardless of religion or nationality. The meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. and end at 9 p.m., but people can come and go as they like. There will be a light supper at 6:30 p.m.

Volunteers will be assembling hygiene kits that consist of toothpaste and toothbrushes, soap, wash cloth, hand towel, and combs. Thousands of these kits have been distributed around the world, including Haiti. Many more are needed. The Relief Society (the women’s organization of the church) will also be working on quilts for humanitarian relief. Anyone who is interested is invited to attend. The ward building is at 1440 Ross Hill Road.

Comment by Senior Citizen

I think I’ll show up one Sunday, at church. Afterall, I come from a long line of Latter Day Saints.

I’m going to ask your fellow Mormons to forgive you for your sins, Cap. H8red won’t get you into heaven Cap, whether it’s for trees or for same sex couples.

Christian means Christ-like, or at least inspiring to be.
