Napa feeling the heat on gay marriage | Napa Valley Register.

The Napa City Council’s refusal two weeks ago to endorse gay marriage has created hard feelings all around.

When the story was picked up by the San Francisco Chronicle, Bay Area supporters of marriage equality erupted with condemnations of the council majority and threats of boycotting the city.

Councilmembers, in turn, says their non-action is being misinterpreted as bigoted or unfeeling, rather than a reluctance to join a divisive state and national debate in which the city does not have jurisdiction. Stunned by the vehemence of her critics, Councilwoman Juliana Inman accuses them of sending “hate mail.”

Seems these “tolerant” people have the attitude if your not for us, your against us. Freedom of speech not allowed, nor is diversity of opinion.

A Proposition 8 hate crime?

On St. Patrick’s Day, the morning was lovely.

I went out to my car and found a window smashed in.

Nothing was taken from inside, so I concluded that this was an act of vandalism, not theft.

Probably motivated by my bumper sticker: “Vote Yes on Prop 8.”

I feel that I have been the victim of a hate crime. The day was not so lovely as I had first thought.
