Pacific Sun Pacific Sun: Upfront: Cat’s out of the ABAG (February 20, 2009).

During the campaign that ended in the successful passage of the SMART commuter rail line between Sonoma and Marin counties, Larkspur raised concerns that the southern terminus of the rail line, at Larkspur Landing, would put the city in the hot seat with ABAG. Having a train terminus in the same location as a ferry terminal—near a freeway, near a major arterial street that leads to the East Bay—means that Larkspur is a likely spot for increased transit-oriented development. But Larkspur already planned for transit-oriented development, said city officials. They expressed concern that the SMART station would trigger ABAG to require even denser development in the area.

This was the only part about SMART.
