Officials will begin working on a plan to include new parking spots at a proposed passenger rail station in Larkspur Landing, after a workshop between the Larkspur City Council and the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit board of directors Wednesday night.Officials from the two agencies discussed the progress of the SMART project and the latest environmental impact report from the proposed site of the Larkspur station. Some Larkspur council members complained that the SMART board had not addressed the council’s concerns about the lack of parking at the station site in the environmental report.

“You put in $80 million (to the plan) since November for a pedestrian-bike path, but there is no money for any parking areas,” Councilwoman Joan Lundstrom said. “You haven’t addressed any of our parking concerns.”

Others on the council echoed Lundstrom’s comments, but Marin Supervisor Charles McGlashan, a SMART board member, told the council he would work with Larkspur to create a parking plan. Council members agreed to work with SMART to create a parking plan.
