Your TV 20 has an article on architects plans for trolleys in Marin, with video. They want to use modern tech trolleys with a retro look. Some interesting points.

The first line would make use of one of these historic transit routes with trolley rails laid down along Miller Avenue and stops built into the current median strips.

He estimated only 5 percent of Marin residents currently take public transit while numbers in other Bay Area counties are closer to 30 to 35 percent. A goal of the trolley system would be to get ridership numbers in Marin up to 20 percent.

So Holier-than-thou Marin sucks when it comes to using mass transit? People tend to use trains more often than buses, so it should improve as it gets built out.
