Windows Vista missing Direct Cable Connection

Another thing Microsoft dropped from Vista. Somehow I have to figure out a way around it. What is it? It allows a internet protocol connection via a serial port or other cable to another cable connection.

Here’s a patch.

Problem with that patch, is it doesn’t run my windows software.

Are you saying Vista doesn’t accomodate hard line connections (as opposed to wireless) to the internet?

They don’t support IP via serial port, Ethernet connections still work. Not many people have a need for such a connection. I do. I still haven’t figured out a good way around this problem.

I’ve been searching everywhere to get the same working.
If you have found anything by now, please let me know!

Haven’t figured out anyway around the problem with Vista, except to upgrade to XP.
