Finally got the entire meeting posted. It has been a long, painful process. I had gotten a new camcorder a JVC GZ-MG555U, it includes only software for Windows, none for Mac. However it does have a firewire connection on it’s dock, which imports in real time, in iMovie just fine. This video is not done in iMovie. Getting her laptop for 2 1/2 hours to import the video it hard to do. There is a program for Mac to convert the weird .mod video files to import the files directly, which would be much faster, at the speed of USB 2.0. It is around $30 though. The video editing software that comes with the camcorder, and preinstalled on my Acer Aspire 9410 both come from the same manufacture. They both are frustrating, in that the title background is not choose able, nor can you turn off the title screen. Also skipping to the end to lop off the post meeting stuff wasn’t possible without viewing the meeting, at the fastest rate of 16x. So that left me with Windows Movie Maker, a bit better
editing, more control, and a choice of where to output, and a choice of files to output, AVI file, or a range of Windows Media formats. Joy. I’m a bit envious of my wife’s mac. My linux server’s motherboard is dead, so no playing around there. The format finally accepted by google video is a windows media, around 130 megabytes for the entire 2 1/2 hour time frame.
I tried keeping track of who was for both trail and rail, and those who do rail banking/rails to trail, but some I couldn’t figure out what they said. Majority of those who spoke was for both. It is hard to hear the Marin teleconferencing people.

Lawrence — If you want to do this more often, you should ask to jack into their sound board. They’ll let you.
Comment by Hank Sims Saturday 13 Oct 2007 @ 10:05i didn’t think the teleconference was on the sound board. It would be much better if it was.
Comment by capdiamont Saturday 13 Oct 2007 @ 10:07Yeah, it would. But the microphones next to the speakerphone probably picked it up, at least a little.
