Railroad Right of Way Clearing Photos

Things went better than I expected on Saturday. From the forest area just north of the Samoa bridge to the Samoa Cook House is clear, mowed even, same with a small section north of the forest. Through most the forest, little more than a trail is done. At least we can walk through it now. The next clearing party is Sept 22nd, 9 am. We are planning to run a speeder to haul equipment and people. I added a page to let people know what to bring.

All photos on this page, were taken by Dexter. This next pic is Byron at a section of the track where the pumping station for the dredging of the bay was. This area is representative of the non forested areas. This area is reasonably quick to clear, almost fun.

Next photo, Mike and Carl clearing just north of the Samoa bridge. Mike is the one who brought his old mower. It’s on it’s 4th engine. I wish I would of thought of bringing a mower.

Last photo is Carl and me shaking hands across the last barrier of the forest area. I never thought we would get to, let alone through the forest area. Who knows when the tree fell. Marcus cleared the tree.
